Afiha is a Florida native with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Human Services and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She has 20 years of experience in public and private elementary school settings and is passionate about empowering young minds through education.
Afiha has taught students from preschool to fifth grade and has prepared high school students for summer jobs with CareerSource Broward. Her diverse roles include instructional reading coach, community liaison, and administrative positions. She is also a certified instructional coach.
At Pine Crest School, Afiha's love for reaching all children sparked her interest in Computer Science and Technology. As a Computer Science and Technology Specialist for Pre-K to 1st grade, she introduces young learners to the wonders of computer science and technology while fostering curiosity and problem-solving skills. She also coaches robotics for 4th through 6th graders, guiding them in exploring the exciting world of coding and robotics.
Afiha believes in empowering young minds "one byte at a time" and creates an inclusive classroom environment where all students can become innovative engineers. She meets each student where they are, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. Her dedication to computer science and technology education shapes the next generation of innovative thinkers and problem-solvers.
