About me
As the Vice President of Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Pine Crest School, I am deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders. With 20 years of experience in education, my passion for innovation has led me to collaborate with industry giants like Verizon, contributing to the development of cutting-edge apps, and to study with specialists at MIT. I was honored to be among 200 innovators invited to the National Football League’s HeadHealth TECH Global Symposium Challenge, where I partnered with Duke University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute to address head health safety and concussions in the NFL.
At Pine Crest, I am dedicated to mentoring and guiding student teams, helping them develop entrepreneurial skills that translate into successful start-ups. My students have achieved significant recognition, earning prestigious awards from the Verizon Innovative App Challenge, Diamond Challenge, Horn Entrepreneurship, PBS, CNN, NFTE, Built by Girls, Blue Ocean, and Startupalooza. I take immense pride in mentoring several patent-pending innovations, focusing on product development, new market exploration, and utilizing innovation to create dynamic solutions.
In recognition of my contributions to entrepreneurial education and innovation, I have been twice honored with the Technology Student Association Advisor of the Year national award, the Linnell Award for teaching excellence, and the DiCapua Family Award for Achievement in Teaching Science and Mathematics. I also serve as a science curriculum advisor and have been a featured speaker at the Global Education Symposium and the Pioneer Academics Research Summit, where I have worked alongside university professors and facilitated global cohorts.
My responsibilities include spearheading the three-year Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship Program at Pine Crest School. This transformative program empowers students to think innovatively, cultivate empathy, and sharpen their problem-solving skills. Throughout the program, students progress from grasping the concept of social entrepreneurship to devising and implementing impactful startups that tackle global challenges head-on.I have established the Entrepreneurship-in-Residence Program, a strategic initiative that connects academia and the practical business world. In collaboration with the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, we have created an “Instructor Series” focusing on sustainability and world-changing technology.
