Ryan is an experienced educator with over 30 years of teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development. His career has centered on fostering cognitive and social growth, promoting equity, and implementing inquiry-based learning. He has taught a wide range of subjects, including astronomy, chemistry, integrated sciences, and special education, across diverse settings. His primary focus is on creating engaging, inclusive environments that inspire both students and colleagues.
As an Innovation Specialist, Ryan develops and integrates advanced STEM programs that blend technology with inquiry-based, hands-on learning. He strongly advocates concept-based curriculum design, empowering students to apply key principles to real-world challenges. His student-centered approach encourages active participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.Beyond teaching, Ryan is deeply involved in professional development and teacher mentorship. He has led numerous training sessions on modeling instruction, inquiry-based learning, and project-based learning. As a collaborator with institutions such as Boston University and Northeastern University, he has designed curricula integrating science and engineering practices into K-12 education.
